The Grateful Dog Board and Train program is an ideal option for dogs of all ages, ready to learn how to live with their humans harmoniously. We prioritize emotional well-being and real-life skills. Your dog will stay in our home, living as a member of the family, allowing us to gently and consistently create new, more welcome habits in every facet of your dog's life. Board and Train is the best training option for dogs that demand close management and supervision.
With a minimum two-week stay, your dog will learn foundation skills like hand target, place/stay, sit, down, heel, come, and leave it, along with daily practice of appropriate ways to relate to the world. Priority is given to allowing them freedom to make good choices, play hard, and tap into "happy" while concurrently teaching auto attention and focus, and building confidence, curiosity, and neutrality in new environments. We take pride in carefully socializing dogs with a variety of safe, "mentor" dogs, friendly people and novel environments. Through field trips, enrichment-based daycare and our home environment, dogs grow in skills and composure - and they thrive.

Dog Training Services
How Do We Begin?
Let's meet! It's best to begin with an in-person consultation whenever possible. We can then assess your dog's behavior, temperament and current skill level; and discuss your lifestyle, goals, and any challenges you may be facing. From there, we’ll recommend a customized training plan best suited to meet you and your dog's needs.
Not local enough for an in-person meeting? No worries; we're happy to set up a phone or video call to get the necessary information to determine if board and train is the right fit for your dog.
Unless you are an established client enrolled in our daycare or training classes, Board and Train has a minimum two-week commitment. The program is designed to ensure your dog has time to settle into our home and adjust to their new routine. Extended stays are recommended for dogs needing behavior modification rather than simple foundation skill training.
Please note: Dogs struggling with aggression or separation anxiety may not be appropriate for our program. When we encounter cases beyond our level of expertise they may be refered to Soul Dog Solutions, operated by Cassidy Albert; or another trainer in our network qualified work with you. Soul Dog Solutions has demonstrated expertise and experience and specializes in the rehab and rescue of dogs with complex behavior or aggression issues.
